Laguna Woods Village, the West Coast’s largest age-qualified community, is located in Orange County, California and known for its vibrant, amenity-rich lifestyle. Recognizing the critical role of connectivity, the community engaged The Broadband Group to identify a strategy to deliver Gigabit+ Internet to every residence. An all-fiber network, now under construction, will support the digital interests and needs of residents while enhancing Laguna Woods Village’s position as a national leader in active adult living.

Assignment

Laguna Woods Village’s community-wide cable television system originated with a hybrid fiber-coaxial (HFC) network installed in 1999 to deliver both TV and internet services to every residence.

By 2019, frequent equipment failures prompted the community to engage The Broadband Group to assess the aging system. Upon identifying a robust community-wide conduit infrastructure, TBG guided the evaluation and selection of a new broadband partner. Ting Internet was ultimately contracted to deliver 2-Gigabit service to every home over a newly built fiber network—one that remains owned and controlled by Laguna Woods Village.
