Technology Master Plan™

The Technology Master Plan™ positions a community to move up the value chain of regional and national competitiveness, enabling the delivery of applications, services, and differentiated amenities that attract and retain home buyers, businesses, and anchor tenants.  Historically many of our clients have been residential communities. Today, more and more cities and utilities have contacted The Broadband Group (TBG) to create a common plan and facilities map for a mixed-use environment, as they begin to own their technology future.

Rather than looking to local broadband service providers to define a community’s telecommunications infrastructure, TBG works with Developers, Property Owners, and Service Providers to identify and define their requirements, structure Access and Service Agreements that ensure the availability of appropriate infrastructure to maximize operational efficiency, implement next generation infrastructure, and capture revenue share opportunities.  We design to support both robust Broadband services, as well as complimentary high-quality wireless services that attract and retain tenants and residences.

The TBG business and technical staff will develop baseline business objectives and long-term telecommunications requirements that ensure the network built will sustain the growth and services envisioned including:

  • Investment Grade Business and Financial Models
  • Governance and Ownership Strategies
  • Extensive Market Research Studies and Needs Analysis
  • Regulatory and Telecom Policy Expertise
  • Network Design and Engineering (Wireline / Wireless)
  • Feasibility Studies
  • Define technical strategies related to Public or Private broadband operations and construction.
  • Identify conduit options to use as a tool for commercial multi-carrier access.
  • Analyze technology access strategies based on local jurisdictional conditions, land use regulations/decisions, permitting and access rights.
  • Add increased value to Service Provider negotiations, marketing agreements, and revenue share potential.

When a community implements its Technology Master Plan™, it sets the stage for dynamic economic growth, enhanced communications, and enriched quality of life enabling broadband supported applications, such as Telemedicine, Distance Education, Public Safety, and Smart Grid.
