As Director of Operations, Brian Chernoff brings more than 18 years of telecommunications experience spanning broadband infrastructure, Outside Plant (OSP) engineering, network operations, project management, regulatory affairs, and process automation. At The Broadband Group, Mr. Chernoff leads cross-functional teams across OSP inspection, engineering project management, and customer care, using performance metrics, coaching, and process improvement to strengthen accountability, execution, and project performance.
Mr. Chernoff also brings extensive experience applying automation and artificial intelligence to complex engineering and operational workflows. He has led AI-enabled address and equipment validation initiatives that reduced design churn by approximately 30%. Prior to joining The Broadband Group, he served as Verizon’s national subject matter expert for artificial intelligence implementation within OSP engineering, where he developed 14 custom Google Gemini agents deployed nationwide to automate engineering activities, including test package and invoice reviews.
During his tenure with Verizon, Mr. Chernoff held roles across OSP engineering, project management, real estate, regulatory affairs, and government affairs. His experience includes launching a $120 million fiber expansion program in Austin, developing regulatory playbooks to support infrastructure deployment, managing relationships and contracts with major fiber providers, and coordinating engineering, construction, legal, real estate, and government stakeholders.
Earlier in his career with Cox Communications, Mr. Chernoff managed complex carrier and network initiatives, including more than 300 carrier migrations, and supported the development of operational automation capabilities. His broad technical and operational background enables him to connect engineering, technology, and business priorities to improve efficiency, reduce rework, and support the successful delivery of broadband infrastructure projects.
