Google Fiber Still On Track for Huntsville, Despite Pulling Back in Other Areas

WHNT Channel 19 discusses the continued success of the Huntsville Utilities fiber network, with Anchor Tenant, Google Fiber.

Tasked with the process of managing the construction and operation of the network, Huntsville Utilities has engaged TBG Network Services (TBGNS), a wholly owned subsidiary of TBG, to oversee this construction management process. Google Fiber will lease access to the network to provide gigabit Internet services to residents and businesses.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala.

– Google Fiber announced in a blog post that it intends to scale back its expansion effort nationwide, but a spokesperson for Huntsville Utilities says the move will not impact Google Fiber in Huntsville.

“This project is on track and will continue on schedule,” says Gary Whitley.
